As previously announced, MASTERthese is proud and excited to announce our upcoming Let’s Go to Mars event, featuring former NASA astronaut and current SpaceX consultant, Dr. Garrett Reisman. This event is for specially selected underrepresented students attending high schools in Orange County.

The event is to inspire and motivate the student audience to pursue the education and career necessary to become a part of human travel to and settlement of Mars. Applicants are required to submit an essay that answers the following question: “Why do you want to travel to Mars, and what do you need to accomplish with your education and career to make that happen?”

We are pleased to announce that we have special panel speakers joining our event to provide further knowledge, motivation, inspiration, and understanding of how to pursue careers in this field.

Here are two of the newly added panel speakers with others soon to be added.

  • Panel speaker: Dr. Robert Tryon | engineering fatigue analysis and computational material science importance to space safety | Chief Scientific Officer of Vextec | Ph.D. Engineering, Vanderbilt
  • Panel speaker: Andrew Hunter | problematic man made orbital space debris and interstellar debris | Senior AI and Data Scientist of Mitre Corporation | MS Systems Engineering, University of Pennsylvania
